Kate Bosworth's JewelMint

Today was a busy/lazy day for me as i have just recently finished cleaning up my horror of a room. It seems i cant keep it clean even for one week, especially with my school uniform always ending up on the floor, missing the dirty clothes hamper buy a good 5 feet ahaha. But anyways its now spotless and i've forced myself to put down Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone ( i'm a new reader and decided to see if these books/movies are all everyone says it is, I basically just want to see what all the hype is about)and pick up my latest copy of Teen Vogue.

When it comes to reading magazines i'm a skimmer. I tend to be skim the glossy pages  for about 10 minutes before reading it then put it down for a time when i will actually sit and read every single article and picture caption. The point of me telling you all this is that while i was chewing on my 5 electric watermelon flavored gum (GO BUY IT ITS AMAZING!) and reading my eyes caught the page of simply amazing pieces of jewelry. Wondering what this article could be about - since i'm an accessories fanatic - i soon find out that Kate Bosworth and her best friend and celebrity stylist Cher Coulter have started an online costume-jewelry boutique called JewelMint. Its basically a way for the two to bring higher end fashion to the women of the public at not even a 50 dollar price. Upon joining the site you must take a style quiz to see what type of jewelry from their collection would best suit you and at a price of $29.99 a month a piece of jewelry you pick could be yours, and get this... even the shipping cost is free! You can expect to find some pieces you wish your grandmother had, and if your grandmother does have the jewelry taste of Bosworth and Coulter, more power to yah!

Karl Lagerfeld Designs Collection for Macy's

Karl Lagerfeld is going to be designing a collection for yess, MACY'S! This is exactly the type of thing I've been waiting for!! Okay so here's whats going down:
He will basically be designing a capsule collection ( i'm assuming you know what that is ) for Macy's which will be hitting the racks next fall and he'll automatically be the second designer to join the new designer series "club" Macy's just started.. and what would a designers series be without the grand master Kaiser Karl?
(Kinder Aggugini was the first to kick it off).
Of course its a limited-edition line as the whole purpose of the designer series is to have a new designer every two months; which means be ready to grab your coats and your car keys ladies because this will definitely be a seller-outter as soon as it hits the stores. His teamwork with H&M in 2004 was sheer epicnicity so without a doubt you already know he'll be concocting some drool worthy, jaw dropping, and something-to-get-flabbergasted-over pieces. The big ol' question is though, will he be showing his artistry from Chanel in this collection or a new type of novelty?

First OOTD!

YAAAAAYYYY FIRST OOTD! soo excitedd, i wonder why it too me soo long to actually get around to putting one up? :S
wellp better late than never eh?

The Big Ol' Blog Post

Today is exactly one month and one day from my last post, i blame it on blogger burnout.
See, i was lucky enough to make it through the canadian thanksgiving (October 11) and still keep posting, but i didn't make it far :( obviously.
But now i'm back people, and with a whole lot more to blog about so i'm doing one big ol' blog post.

First off, i would like to acknowledge the fact that i am completely obsessed with Ebay. It seems that everytime i come across the site i end up looking for/at stuff i don't really need, just want, and i know everyone knows what i'm talking about. Its the same situation when you walk into a store at the mall and you opt on buying your 6th hoodie or your 4th pair of yoga pants. SMH its too addicting to quit too, as i'm blogging right now i have a window open on Ebay... i'm searching for an Audrey Hepburn poster. Not to mention the bag and rings i bought from Ebay last month and my double shopping spree in the last week.
*on the off note: Why can't i find Breakfast At Tiffany's online?!!?!?!

I'm actually kinda lucky in a way though aha. My school had a trip to NYC, (YES  NYC!!!) last thursday and just came back today (as if four days in NYC will ever be enough for one person). But, here's the best part: I DIDN'T GO!!! i spent countless weekends daydreaming about the trip only to get a "we'll see", but only because my parents are really strict about my safety that they said that. But on a compromise of me NOT going on the trip because my mom and dad know i'm a young SJP at heart, they opted for me to go to:

(insert crazy dancing here)
Is there even a better time to ever be there?

Thank goodness that one of my good friends went on the trip and even MORE  thank goodness that we both have bbm, that she was able to send me pictures during the whole trip. She even took a picture of those Jimmy Choo & UGG boots which she sent me via bbm and it is now my blackberry wallpaper ahaha.
I wanted to cry, but hey, everything happens for a reason no?
But yeah, back to the reason of why i'm lucky i didn't go on the trip: i would have maxed out my credit card.
I'm already a big spender and even though my friend spent over 300USD, i can tell you now that if i was there with her, child i would have spent what no girl would ever want to spend. NO LIE i would have no self control. HAHA maybe if i did go i could attend a Shopaholic Anonymous meeting!

A New Side of Taylor

WELL MY, OH, MY ! I know that this picture probs came out a couple or a few weeks ago, but my blog pictures folder on my desktop is so unorganized I just found it again..

obviously this is the same taylor, it just takes a second to adjust to her new outfit.
I'm not quite sure if this new look is permanent for her, and by look I mean clothes that aren't a frilly or fluffy puffy dress and boots, not that she ever looks bad when she wears that. This I think is a more modern take on her, lets say, usual outfit. Because look, she still has the frills, still has the boots and her top is still sweet and country just like her. AWWE I'm loving this you guys!

huggies not pampers,

Lets Go Downton

just stumbled upon these phenomenal illustrations by David Downton :)

When I look at these illustrations (well, most of them) I feel the sense of old hollywood glamour and mystery, which is not something I usually get when I look at some fashion illustrations. Its different and I definitely like it.

Gleek Chic

In the november issue of Marie Claire UK, Lea Michele (GAHH!) from the uber hit tv show Glee, (and yes i am a Gleek aha) graces its cover. Its definitely a side of her I haven't seen before, but maybe thats because she's still showing the world her different sides, and her mouth-watering shoes..

see the full photoshoot after the jump !

Don't Touch My Bootie

AW YEAH  wedgebooties YEAH !  (DJ Pauly D voice)
yoo I freaking loove these shoes, wedge booties to be more exact. They're definitely statement shoes (especially the ones directly below) but SIGGHHHH  its become way to cold for me to attempt to buy these and pull them off in my snow blizzard town.

Another fact: these particularly yummy shoes below are no longer being sold :'(

Best of Both Worlds

Okay so I live Canada, and yeah I've heard all the rumors about us living in igloos ahaha!
And even though I haven't seen a winter, nonetheless been in a winter soo freezing its only suitable that I
become prepared. I've been brutal with my search for both knee high boots and leopard print shoes, especially with the animal print craze going on nowadays and I must say I finally found both :

It would be a miracle if I ever find a pair of these on ebay seeing as I currently have no job and such,
but for now all I can do is stare.

A Quick Makeover

The other day the fates of the world seemed to be against me as I fell sick.
Sick with sadness that is, that the straps on my well-loved and beloved H&M cross body bag broke.
At first, i wasn't sure what was going on as i felt the first end of the strap slipping off my shoulders, then realization dawned on me as my bag fell to the ground. This was not my bedroom carpet, but the damp, leafy ground on which i was walking on from school to home.

I thought, OH THATS JUST PEACHY, but the fates weren't done with me yet.
Yes, the other half of the strap decided to release itself from the bag.
As embarrassing as it is to admit, i was near tears... very near infact as i solemnly continued walking homebound.

Not knowing what to do with a bag strap and a bag i saw only one conclusion in mind: to convert my cross body bag into a clutch. Despite the size of the bag i figured this was my only way since there was no way i was going to throw it out. NO WAY JOSE!

 Here's what i did :

Nd thank goodness I was lucky enough to find an almost empty bottle of glitter spray paint! Salvage what you can right ?

4 hours later and VOILA!!

i love how its so subtle, but as soon as it catches light.. the whole bag explodes in glittery goodness.
Add a nice brooch and you're done!

There have been few posts put up lately because I have been doing some self-evaluation and some very much needed blog-evaluation. I've come to notice and take account of the fact that i haven't been being myself on this blog which really defeats the whole purpose of me having a blog.

See, its all too easy to take pictures from a website, and say your two pieces and be done and depending on who you are, its a bit challenging to come up with something new and interesting to blog about every single day.

Obviously i need to work on the latter teehee.

But this isn't just an issue about me, but about other blogs and blogs-to-be out there. And i know i have no experience with blogging (clearly!) especially being a newbie myself to be telling you what to do. BUT there is a simple fact that needs to be let known.

YOU ARE YOUR OWN PERSON, so why shouldn't your blog be the same... its own.

I came to this realization while searching the net for useful tips on how to be a better blogger, practically forcing myself to read the common point over and over: be unique in your blog and others will see your uniqueness.
No one wants to see a copy of someone else's blog, why look at yours when theirs stands out so much more?
And yes it may be hard, you may be in the middle of nowhere using that as an excuse to even paraphrase another blogger's post because of "lack of inspiration". I know because i've used it myself many times before.

But really what are you gaining if you're only piggy-backing another blogger? Especially since that blogger probably put more effort into what they are doing than you are.

Instead of blog-stalking and then posting the same material, find what interests you about the topic and blog that. Keep it light, and interesting and most importantly, keep it YOU.

In the words of the great CoCo Chanel:

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."

Now take that and run with it!

ohkay so i just finished watching the very first episode of ANTM Cycle 15 and let me tell you now... this is going to be one of the most interesting seasons i've seen!! The stakes on this season are OFF THE FRIGGEN CLIFF, NOT A HOOK A CLIFF! career launched in Vogue Italia +  a contract with IMG Models & the coveted Cover Girl contract = my eyes glued to the computer screen to watch every.single.episode. :D
The Underdog i'm rootin' for this season: Ann becuz her awkwardness is her greatest advantadge. If only tht was the same for me :/
The Episode Jaw-Dropper: Terra being picked LAST! i so didn't see tht coming but i guess Tyra has more than a few tasteful tricks up her sleeve nonetheless this season. She always does aha.
